SHUTDOWN, TURNAROUND, & OUTAGE MANAGEMENT
Minimize Production Losses & Optimize Equipment Availability.
Elevate project certainty as our professionals guide you through our comprehensive six step outage management process. Flawless execution depends on the quality and thoroughness of the plan, so we pay a lot of attention to the details right up front.
1. Pre-Outage Planning
Using your input and outage requirements, we will document key drivers, metrics, and goals, as well as select who will be part of the integrated project team.
2. Project Kick-Off
After our walkdown and review of your site/project-specific requirements, we will organize a Kick-Off session to clearly define your Outage Charter scope and assign roles and responsibilities.
3. Project Scope Definition
We meet with the customer to clarify scope, and also perform a plant walkdown. This is where we observe the condition of the valves and determine how we’re going to access them. Safety is also a top priority. We determine the safest way to work on-site, including building necessary scaffolding ahead of our mechanical work.
4. Project Proposal
We create a proposal where the scope of work is clearly defined. We also provide a timeline and rough schedule. At that time, we create a list of what’s going to be pulled or repaired during the outage and how long it will be with us for repairs.
5. Outage Execution
After the proposal is approved, parts, supplies, and manpower are ordered to either your facility, or to one of our repair centers. Whether your pieces need to be repaired or replaced, we’ll support you every step of the process to make sure your facility is up and running as soon as possible. We can provide pickup and delivery, as well, to help with time constraints and overall convenience. All our technicians working on the project are badged, complete their safety training, and meet the customer’s foremen before beginning work.
6. Post-Outage Review
Our primary goal is to ensure everything is ordered, repaired, replaced, and reinstalled; however, we also pride ourselves on the condition we leave your facility. Our objective is to clean up as if we were never there. We also conduct a post-outage review to start planning for your next outage.
Project Management Team
Depending on the size and scope of your turnaround, Midwest Valve Services can assign a Project Manager who will be your single point of contact from start to finish.

Our in-house team of Project Managers are an expert resource on industry-specific valve applications, valve maintenance and repairs, and Pressure Relief Valves, and follow our six-step project management process to complete your turnaround on budget and on schedule.
